At LRD, we offer a diverse range of dance styles to cater to every dancer’s interests and goals.
From classical ballet to energetic hip-hop, contemporary, tap, pointe, acro dance, and jazz, our comprehensive class offerings provide a well-rounded dance education. Each class is carefully designed to enhance technique, foster artistic expression, and cultivate a love for dance. Dress codes are in place to ensure a professional and focused environment, allowing dancers to move freely while maintaining a unified appearance.
Creative Movement (ages 2.5-3)
For the beginner dancer. Students will learn about movement and their bodies through fun games and dance. They will learn the basic steps in Tap, Ballet and Jazz.
Dress Code: Leotard/biketard, any color tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes required.
Pre Ballet / Jazz / Tap (ages 4-5)
This class teaches the basics and fundamentals of ballet, tap and jazz.
Dress Code: Leotard/biketard, any color tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes required.
Combo Classes
This class teaches the fundamentals of ballet and jazz.
Dress Code: Leotard or fitted top and bottom, any color tights and pink ballet shoes required.
Ballet & Pointe Classes
Students will be taught classically based technique and terminology essential to dancers of all styles. Additionally, dancers will receive information regarding the art, history, and etiquette of ballet. Students will also learn choreography of the classical era. Students must be invited to participate in pointe along with taking 2 ballet technique classes.
Dress Code: Any solid black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes required. Hair must be in a bun.
Jazz Classes
Students are taught jazz steps, combinations, and choreography. Modern Jazz, Classical Jazz and New Age Jazz are all incorporated.
Dress Code: Leotard or form-fitted top, tights if preferred, yoga pants, capris and or shorts. No shoes are required.
Musical Theater
Musical Theater explores a range of styles and genres of musical theater dance. Students learn about the show and the context of the song which they will learn a combination from. The class will focus on performance, strength, and technique for different styles of dance, giving students a good understanding of various styles related to Musical Theater.
Dress Code: Leotard or form-fitted top, yoga pants, capris and or shorts. No shoes are required.
Acro (ages 2.5 And Up)
Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling, and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion, and strength. LRD Instructors are CERTIFIED WITH ACROBATIC ARTS in Module 1, Module 2 and Preschool certifications!!! No shoes are required. Gymnastic mats and other equipment are used.
Dress Code: Leotard or form-fitted top, yoga pants, capris and or shorts. No shoes are required.
Hip Hop
Students will focus on hip-hop choreography to today’s hottest music.
Dress Code: Any clothes that are fit to move in. No shoes are required. You may wear sneakers as long as they are NOT outside sneakers.
Contemporary
This class teaches students to incorporate words with movement through choreography. Contemporary is ballet technique based.
Dress Code: Leotard or form-fitted top, tights if preferred, yoga pants, capris and or shorts. No shoes are required.
Tap
This is a style of dance that produces rhythms and percussions through the use of tap shoes that have metal on the toes and heels.
Dress Code: Leotard or form fitted top, tights if preferred, yoga pants, capris and or shorts. Black Tap shoes required.
